Job Description

The Production Planner is solely responsible for planning and managing production schedules across several work centers and product lines in order to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity in a high mix, high change manufacturing environment.  The Production Planner will manage and facilitate effective and efficient information flow through the production process.  This includes scheduling in collaboration with customer service, production, quality assurance, purchasing, and logistics.

Duties

  • Detailed daily production scheduling
  • Plans and schedules for each work center and operation according to manufacturing sequences, lead times, and customer delivery requirements, in a way that effectively manages available labor so that plant efficiency targets can be achieved
  • Communicate daily production schedules to production team leads and shop floor
  • Perform functions in the ERP / MRP system such as create work orders, inventory adjustments, and run reports
  • Performs work order maintenance in the ERP system, such as issuing work orders, updating quantities, scheduling WIP start/end dates, and closing completed work orders
  • Ensure the MRP setup parameters are maintained to get the desired MRP output. Such as capacity, lead time, order policies, safety stock levels, EBQ, etc.
  • Receive completed work orders from shop floor and review for accuracy such as, quantities completed, material and labor issued, back flushes, and substitutions. Makes any adjustments in ERP system as needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Notify engineering if any BOM discrepancies are found
  • Provide promised delivery dates to customer service for all new sales orders
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, management, purchasing, engineering, customer service, and logistics on inventory status and production planning issues. Proactively address any problems and recommend and initiate actions
  • Actively participate in various teams/meetings such as production planning meetings with shop floor, and inventory team
  • Data analysis and decision making to support department material supply to meet customer demand.
  • May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or a higher level of proficiency.

 

Job Requirements and COMPETENCIES

  • Working knowledge of Production Planning, Manufacturing Scheduling and Materials Planning
  • Must have a good understanding of Bill of Material structuring
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work tasks. Possess “big picture” operations knowledge.
  • Self-starter with excellent organization, follow up and decision making skills
  • Proficient user of Excel and Access, and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to cope with change; shift gears comfortably with a positive outcome
  • Uses analytical skills to solve problems
  • APICS Certification desired.
  • BS / BA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or similar discipline
  • 5-7 years planning and/or production experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. ( SysPro) is a plus.

Job Description: Manufacturing Associate Dept. Production
Salary: $17.65 to $20.00 DOE Report to: Shift Supervisor/Lead

New Basis LLC is a Nationwide manufacturing plant with over 30 years of industry experience with the most recent advances in materials, engineering, technology, and manufacturing. We utilize innovative design to deliver efficient products while making pads and below ground composite vaults for telecommunications, electrical, CATV, water, traffic, lighting, and industrial companies. We’re looking for an experienced to help us develop detailed solutions that serve the polymer concrete, and fiberglass industry. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire with production and manufacturing procedures.

Job Summary:

The best applicant in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. The individual will be responsible for making polymer concrete boxes, covers, vaults, using pre-made fiberglass sheets and following instructions. Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to produce products in one of the following areas: Small Box, Large Box, Cover Lids, Pad Lines and FRP, at 100% of daily production.
  • Prep and wrap molds, mix, pour, cure, demold, stencil, and inspect product.
  • Maintain accurate production records.
  • Inspect material, products, or equipment for defects.
  • Must keep assigned area clean and organized.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Physical Work Environment:

The production is performed in a manufacturing environment. Hand-eye coordination is necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; operate tools, or controls; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with their hands and arms while communicating effectively. Occasionally lift up to 90 pounds as a team with a co-worker. As well as being safe in a fast-paced working environment.

Education: High school or GED (Preferred)

Pay: $17.65 to $20.00 depending on skills level.

Job Type: Fulltime employment 8 to 12 hours per day. Schedules are adjusted to required sales and shipping requirements. Overtime is currently available.
